If you are a consumer centric business, it is important to put into place a process by which you gain constant feedback about the products or services you offer.
Such a feedback loop enables you to gain critical insights – that might help you position your products or services better among your target customers and beat the competition by delivering greater value to your consumers.
In order to gain feedback, we often look at surveys or market research; while ignoring a source, which is quite near at hand – your firms own employees.
A great way to start, is to encourage your employees to use your products or services, for free; and then ask then to share their honest feedback about the product/service offering, point out glitches or suggest what improvements can be made.
Also, put into place a process by which your employees can constantly provide feedback to the management.
Your employees have a personal interest in wanting your company to succeed, for their future in the company depends to a considerable extent on how well the company as a whole does. It is for this reason they are more likely to share valuable inputs that can aid actual decision-making.
A point of note – always remember to reward employees who participate in such feedback program(s).
